A degree program in information systems management will focus on the skills you'll need to support the information technology infrastructure in an organization. You'll explore different concepts, methods and applications of corporate information systems, and learn how to analyze, design, implement, test, deploy, assess, maintain and enhance such systems.
At the bachelor's level you will take courses in hardware and software concepts, programming, algorithm design, database concepts, systems analysis and design, information systems and security, information security needs assessment and possibly courses in telecommunication systems and project management. You'll also complete coursework in technical writing and business communications, as you will need to be able to communicate effectively via the spoken and written word and by using multimedia.
A master's program in information systems will find teach you about information systems analysis and design, evaluation of information systems, information technology integration, information systems management software project management, informatics and human-computer interaction. You'll find the master's program to be highly interactive, giving you plenty of hands-on experience with the latest techniques and technology.
Upon earning your information systems degree, you could work in the areas of software programming, information resources management, information systems analysis and design, interface design or requirements engineering.
